The Chairman of the Investigation Committee into the Majia Fire Incident has formally presented the committee’s report to Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, FCA.
During the presentation held at the Council Chamber of the Government House, Dutse, the chairman expressed gratitude to the governor for prioritising the investigation despite his busy schedule.
The Majia Fire Incident, which occurred on 14 October 2024, prompted Governor Namadi to constitute the committee to uncover the causes and recommend preventive measures.
Details of the findings and recommendations were presented, highlighting critical areas requiring government intervention to prevent future occurrences.
The governor assured that the report would be thoroughly reviewed and acted upon to safeguard lives and property across the state.
Governor Namadi commended the committee for its dedication and reiterated his administration’s commitment to addressing emergencies and strengthening disaster response systems.
