The All Progressives Congress (APC) Students and Youth Awareness Forum in Jigawa State has declared unflinching support for former Governor and current Minister of Defence, Badaru Abubakar, extolling his exemplary leadership as a “gentleman of integrity and unity.”
In a statement signed by the forum’s chairman, Zaharradin Ahmad Aliyu, the group celebrated Badaru’s unwavering commitment to the APC’s principles and his efforts to unite party members at both state and national levels.
“Throughout his tenure as governor, Badaru implemented numerous developmental projects aligned with the APC’s manifesto and promoted individuals in line with the party’s values,” the statement noted.
The forum lauded Badaru’s historic decision to nominate Jigawa State’s current governor from the North-East region of the state, a move described as “ground-breaking” and unprecedented in the state’s democratic history.
It further highlighted his continued role in fostering peace and stability as the Minister of Defence, cementing his legacy as a unifier and a champion of good governance.
Despite acknowledging Badaru’s achievements, the forum condemned what it termed “unfounded allegations of anti-party activities” against him.
“Such accusations reflect either a lack of understanding of the party’s manifesto or a willingness to prioritise personal interests over the collective good,” the statement read, calling for unity within the party.
Urging Governor Alhaji Umar Namadi to strengthen ties with Badaru, the forum stressed the importance of collaboration for the progress of Jigawa State.
“A united front between the governor and the Honourable Minister of Defence would serve the people of Jigawa better than distractions from political opportunists,” the group added.
Reaffirming its confidence in Badaru’s leadership, the forum appealed to all stakeholders to rally behind him, citing his dedication to promoting peace, stability, and the APC’s agenda.
“We are proud to stand by H.E. Badaru Abubakar, a true gentleman of integrity, unity, and dedication to the APC’s manifesto,” the statement concluded.
