The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to ₦970 per litre.
The move, disclosed on Sunday, aims to appreciate Nigerians for their support and boost local enterprise.
Anthony Chiejina, Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Refinery, confirmed the development in a statement, highlighting the company’s commitment to sustaining domestic fuel supply.
“This is our way of appreciating Nigerians for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true,” the statement read.
The new price represents a reduction from the ₦990 per litre ex-depot price previously set earlier this month.
Chiejina added: “This move also thanks the government for their support as it complements measures to encourage domestic enterprise for our collective well-being. While maintaining the highest standards for our petroleum products, we assure you of environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions.”
The price cut offers oil marketers a savings of ₦20 per litre, potentially easing the financial burden on businesses and consumers.
Dangote Refinery also reiterated its determination to increase production capacity to meet domestic fuel consumption demands, dispelling fears of any supply shortfall.
The announcement marks a positive step towards addressing concerns over rising fuel costs and underscores the refinery’s role in Nigeria’s energy landscape.
