The Federal Government has launched ministerial press briefings to enhance transparency and accountability in governance, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced in Abuja on Tuesday.
Idris stated that President Bola Tinubu had directed all ministers to appear periodically before the media to update Nigerians on their policies and activities.
“These briefings will provide a platform for ministers to engage with Nigerians, highlight key developments in their ministries, and address public concerns,” Idris said.
He added that the press briefings would be held weekly, with different ministers taking turns to update the public.
The initiative comes ahead of the second anniversary of Tinubu’s administration, underscoring the government’s commitment to keeping citizens informed about its programmes and policies.
