Governor Malam Umar Namadi has reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming Jigawa State through the implementation of the 12-Point Agenda blueprint, calling for teamwork and innovation in governance.
Speaking at a two-day retreat in Gombe, organized for Jigawa’s top government officials, Namadi emphasized the need for collective effort in driving sustainable development.
“We’ve done a lot, but we can’t slow down. We must finish ongoing projects and launch new ones that benefit our people,” he stated.
The retreat, themed “Ascending the Peak—Achieving Greater Jigawa Through Innovation and Leadership,” focused on leveraging technology and aligning governance with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Namadi highlighted job creation for young people through the J-Recruitment program, which has provided employment and empowerment opportunities in agriculture, small businesses, ICT, and key sectors like education and healthcare.
“The success stories of most of our youth employment and empowerment programs across various sectors are a testimony to progress on this takeaway,” he said.
He also addressed the state’s growing budget, which has increased by over 130% compared to the previous year, stressing the need for innovative funding strategies, including public-private partnerships.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, who declared the event open, commended Jigawa’s progress under Namadi’s leadership, noting that the 12-Point Agenda is a “bold and comprehensive roadmap” for sustainable development. The retreat featured sessions on governance reforms, public service efficiency, and the role of technology in enhancing government operations.
