The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, has reiterated the importance of preventive strategies in the fight against corruption.
Speaking at a National Policy Dialogue on Anti-Corruption in Abuja, Dr Aliyu emphasised that prevention has proven more effective in curbing corrupt practices.
“We need collaboration across all tiers of government and agencies, locally and internationally, to fight corruption effectively,” he stated.
Highlighting recent successes, Dr Aliyu revealed how a partnership with the Bureau of Public Procurement led to the recovery of $300,000 earmarked for ICT students and an expensive vehicle.
The Attorney-General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Abiodun Fagbemi, represented by Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, commended the dialogue for fostering collaboration among stakeholders to sustain anti-corruption successes.
