Jahun Local Government Expands Water Supply System

The Jahun Local Government Council, Jigawa State has taken significant steps to tackle water scarcity by approving the expansion of the water supply system from the Lambu water station to various quarters in Jahun town.

Comrade Ismael Bature Jahun, Special Assistant on Publicity to the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Jamilu Muhammad Danmalam, stated that engineers have been sent to assess the areas to be connected to the water supply system.

The expansion will begin with the connection of Kofar Gabas, Lilon Dan Baqi, and Yarkasuwa quarters, with more areas to follow in the first phase. As part of the ongoing water provision efforts, the council has also repaired five boreholes at the Lambu water station, replacing old equipment with modern solutions.

Hon. Danmalam has been actively addressing water issues in Jahun Local Government Area, repairing over 230 functional boreholes with solar-powered pumps across 11 wards in the past four months.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to provide reliable access to potable water for the people of Jahun.
