Jigawa Emirate Backs Anti-Corruption Commission in Fight for Justice

The Ringim Emirate Council in Jigawa State has pledged unwavering support for the Jigawa State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (JG-PCACC) in its mission to combat corruption and institutional injustice across the state.

The assurance was made on Wednesday when the commission’s chairman, Barrister Salisu Abdu, led a delegation to the Emir’s palace as part of an advocacy visit.

Representing the Emir of Ringim, Alhaji Sayyadi Mahmoud, Chiroman Ringim, Alhaji Usman Abubakar Sayyadi, praised the commission’s efforts, emphasizing its alignment with the Emirate’s ideals of transparency, accountability, and good governance.

“Your activities are service to humanity, and it is in line with the ideals we stand for as an emirate. The Emir spent almost his entire life serving people as a cooperative czar, and now, as Emir, he remains committed to serving,” Chiroma stated.

The Emirate commended the professionalism demonstrated by the commission in addressing complaints, adding that the Emirate would fully support its work in creating a just society.

Speaking during the visit, Barrister Abdu highlighted the commission’s mandate, established in February by Jigawa State Governor Mallam Umar Namadi, to ensure justice and investigate complaints lodged by citizens against government agencies and private organisations.

“The commission has received over 200 complaints since its inception, with more than 100 already resolved. We are committed to providing free services to all citizens and ensuring fairness in every matter,” Abdu said.

He also called on the Emirate to assist in sensitising the public about the commission’s functions, which include facilitating dialogue, making corrective recommendations, and monitoring compliance.

The Ringim Emirate Council’s endorsement strengthens JG-PCACC’s efforts to foster accountability and restore trust in governance, offering a hopeful outlook for residents of Jigawa State.
