A member of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhd Kabir Ibrahim Yayannan Rossy, has released a comprehensive list of projects executed in Birnin Kudu constituency, ranging from mosque renovations to youth empowerment and hand pumps.
Speaking on Freedom Radio Dutse, the lawmaker, who chairs the House Committee on Women and Social Welfare, highlighted the solar electrification of key Jumma’at mosques in Birnin Kudu, Kangire and Zarenawa, aimed at ensuring worshippers pray in comfort.
“Our community mosque had no light, and the heat disrupted prayer,” he said on Birnin Kudu Central Mosque, “so I installed solar to solve the issue.”
He also built and refurbished several mosques, including those in Unguwar Mahauta, Masallacin Ama, and Kiyako Mosque.
Rossy noted he constructed an Islamic school in Gandu, primary schools in Jambiri and Kankare, and created over 300 hand pumps across villages like Tsaran Dagaji and Dokoki Bakin Kasuwa.

He said his legislative achievements include pushing through a motion to increase monthly stipends for people with special needs from ₦7,000 to ₦17,000, and expanding the beneficiary list from 150 to 200.
In the area of youth development, he offered scholarships and admission slots to many students pursuing post-secondary education.
For women, he distributed capital grants to enhance self-reliance, while job creation schemes targeted unemployed graduates in the area.
“We also repaired the education office and fixed the gate and fencing at the local cemetery for security,” he added.
In Ladduga village, a new bridge was constructed to ease transport and reduce flood risks, while flood-prone areas like Makaranatar Makafi saw drainage expansion.
During Ramadan, he disbursed ₦10 million in welfare, gave out 1,400 women’s atampas and 1,000 men’s sallah garments during Eid celebrations.
He promised more impactful projects in future, saying, “I am committed to improving the lives of my constituents through meaningful and lasting interventions.”
Residents have welcomed the transparency, calling the efforts “unprecedented” in the constituency’s recent history.
