The Jigawa Youth Agenda has strongly condemned what it describes as baseless and unfounded allegations against the Honourable Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.
The claims, reportedly made by a self-styled group claiming to represent All Progressives Congress (APC) youth in Jigawa State, have been dismissed as an attempt to sow discord within the party.
In a statement issued by Dr. Mujahid Assalafi, the group’s Coordinator, the Jigawa Youth Agenda asserted that the so-called APC Youth Group lacks official recognition within the party.
Describing the group as hastily organised and unrepresentative of the APC youth, Dr. Assalafi accused them of spreading misinformation to undermine the unity of the APC.
The statement reaffirmed the group’s steadfast support for Minister Badaru Abubakar, highlighting his exemplary leadership and transformative contributions both as Governor of Jigawa State and in his current role as Defence Minister.
According to the Jigawa Youth Agenda, Badaru’s tenure is marked by a relentless commitment to strengthening national security, forging strategic global partnerships, and empowering youth through initiatives in education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
The group emphasized that the Minister has been instrumental in promoting cohesion within the APC, fostering collaboration across Jigawa State and at the national level.
This dedication, they argued, is essential for ensuring the party’s continued success and its alignment with the Tinubu administration’s developmental goals.
Dr. Assalafi further called on Nigerians to disregard the baseless accusations, noting that they were designed to distract from the Minister’s legacy of service and achievement.
He urged party members to remain focused on reinforcing unity and promoting progress within the APC.
“Minister Muhammad Badaru Abubakar’s legacy remains a source of pride for Jigawa State and Nigeria,” he said, adding that the Minister’s integrity and effectiveness in public service set a benchmark for leadership.
The Jigawa Youth Agenda concluded its statement with a call to action, encouraging all Nigerians to support Minister Badaru’s efforts in building a more secure and prosperous nation.
It reaffirmed its confidence in his leadership and rejected any attempt to destabilize the party or tarnish his reputation.
As the APC continues to navigate political challenges, the call for unity and unwavering support for its leaders underscores the importance of collaboration in achieving its goals for national development.
