The Federal Government has announced a one-week extension to the recruitment window for Nigeria’s paramilitary services, giving hopeful applicants until Monday, August 11, to submit their applications.
The initial deadline, previously set for Monday, August 4, has been moved to accommodate a wider pool of candidates amid high public interest in joining the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, Maj. Gen. A. M. Jibril (retd.), the government explained that the extension aims to “provide additional opportunity for applicants willing to be enlisted.”
The recruitment exercise has drawn significant attention nationwide, particularly from young Nigerians eager for government employment in a tight labour market.
Jibril stressed that the official portal (https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng) remains the only legitimate site for applications, warning the public against scams and unofficial channels.
“The recruitment process is entirely free, and we remain committed to transparency and fairness throughout,” the retired general reiterated.
The board said it was committed to a merit-based selection process, adding that all qualified candidates will be considered equally.
The new deadline offers thousands a renewed chance to join the ranks of Nigeria’s crucial internal security agencies at a time of heightened security concerns across the nation.
Applicants are urged to ensure their submissions are completed before the new deadline to avoid disqualification, as the government has made clear there will be no further extensions.
