The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 38 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) to Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) and 100 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) to ACPs.
The decision was made during an extraordinary plenary meeting held on Thursday at the Commission’s headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.
The meeting, presided over by the PSC Chairman, retired DIG Hashimu Argungu, also saw the promotion of notable officers, including Emmanuel Deenom, Olufemi Takeet, and Yusuf Doki Sani, to the rank of DCP.
Argungu urged the promoted officers to demonstrate increased dedication to national service, with a particular focus on combating insurgency and banditry.
He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to promoting officers based on merit and performance, underscoring the need for intensified efforts to address security challenges in the country.
