The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) has commended the stakeholders in Jigawa, for the support in the implementation of Shock Response and Social Protection (SRSP) project in the state.
The commendation was made by the coordinator Disaster management, Mr Timothy Ali Yohanna who led the delegation team from the National headquarter of Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS), at the Stakeholders Coordination meeting held in Dutse the state capital.
Yohanna explained that, the meeting is part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and appreciate key partners in the implementation of the Shock Response and Social Protection (SRSP) project in Jigawa State.
According to him, the purpose of the delegation Visit, is to acknowledge and commend the Director of Planning and the entire SEMA team for their active support and collaboration since the commencement of the SRSP project in Jigawa State.
He maintains that, the visit will also Strengthen the partnership between NRCS and SEMA towards effective humanitarian preparedness and response, as well as to present branded project souvenirs as a symbol of appreciation and partnership.
The coordinator added that, during the visit, the NRCS NHQ team presented NRCS-branded items, including a school bag, water flask, T-shirt, face-cap, and diary.

“The souvenirs were handed over as a token of appreciation for the invaluable contribution of SEMA towards the success of the SRSP project, especially in the LGAs of Miga, Auyo, and Hadejia”, he said.
While making his remarks, Director of Planning, speaking on behalf of the SEMA Executive Director, expressed heartfelt appreciation to UNICEF, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, and other partners for bringing the SRSP intervention to Jigawa State.
He recognized the significance of anticipatory actions and pledged SEMA’s continued commitment to humanitarian coordination and emergency preparedness efforts across the state.
The courtesy visit underscored the importance of mutual recognition and collaboration between humanitarian actors and government agencies. The symbolic gesture further solidified the working relationship between NRCS and SEMA, setting a positive tone for the day’s main coordination meeting and subsequent project activities.
The visit involved a high-level NRCS delegation comprising the director of Disaster Management, NRCS National Headquarters Mr.Timothy Ali Yohanna, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Officer, NRCS National Headquarters Mr. Ibrahim Amuda, Disaster Management Officer and SRSP Project Focal Point Kefas Yakubu Shutty, and NRCS Jigawa State Branch management team.
