Senator Babangida Hussaini, representing Jigawa North West, has expressed profound sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the people of Majia Town and the entire state of Jigawa following the tragic petrol tanker explosion that claimed the lives of more than 100 people.
The horrific incident took place on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, near Khadija University, Majia, in Taura Local Government Area, when a truck loaded with petrol lost control, resulting in a devastating explosion.
In a press statement released signed by Mukhtar Hussaini, Media Aide to Senator Babangida Hussaini on Wednesday, Senator Babangida conveyed his grief over the disaster, acknowledging the immense loss and the pain felt by the affected families.
“It is with profound sadness that I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this terrible tragedy,” Senator Babangida said.
The explosion, which left scores dead and many others severely injured, has thrown the community into mourning.
The Senator also expressed his thoughts and prayers for those currently receiving medical care, offering words of solace and unity in the face of the disaster.
“My thoughts and prayers are also with those who have been injured and are currently receiving medical care. I join all Nigerians in mourning this painful loss, and I pray for the Almighty’s guidance and strength for the families affected during this difficult time,” he added.
Senator Babangida assured the people of Jigawa that he remains committed to providing support during this challenging period.
He pledged to ensure that those affected receive the necessary care and attention as they begin the process of recovery.
