Senator Babangida Hussaini, representing Jigawa North West, has visited the grieving families of the victims of the recent fuel tanker explosion in Majia Town, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State. The tragic incident claimed the lives of over 100 people.
In the statement signed by Mukhtar Hussaini, Media Aide to the Senator, on 16th October 2024, the Senator expressed his deep condolences and sympathised with the bereaved families, offering prayers for those who lost their lives in the disaster.
“This devastating incident has left an unimaginable impact on the community, and my thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families during this difficult time,” he said.
In a show of support, Senator Babangida announced a donation of ₦10 million to aid the surviving victims who are currently receiving treatment in various medical centres and hospitals across the state.
“In addition to offering my condolences, I have donated ₦10 million to support the surviving victims who are currently receiving medical care in various hospitals across the state,” he stated.
The senator also called on relevant government agencies and organisations to provide necessary relief and support to the affected families. He urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid hazardous practices during emergencies.
“We must continue to stand together as a community and ensure that the families affected by this tragic incident receive all the care and assistance they need,” he added.
