National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu has warned that the Tinubu administration will tolerate no obstacles in its fight against banditry and terrorism, as security forces intensify operations against armed groups.
Speaking at the Comptroller General of Customs Conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Ribadu highlighted the government’s efforts, which have led to the daily elimination of hundreds of bandits, pushing many into neighbouring Chad.
“This prompted the Chadian president to declare war on them,” Ribadu stated, emphasising the government’s resolve.
“We will secure this country, we will fix it, we are not jokers.”
Ribadu credited the government’s strategy for an improved security landscape, particularly in the Niger Delta region, where stability has driven crude oil production up to 1.8 million barrels per day.
He called on Nigerians to exercise patience, as the administration’s policies aim to stabilise the economy and enhance security.
Additionally, he praised the Nigeria Customs Service, urging officers to seize opportunities for growth in leadership.
The conference, which commenced on Tuesday, is set to conclude on Friday.
