The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, on Thursday, 29 May 2025, welcomed a high-powered delegation from the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Jigawa State Chapter, at the Command Headquarters in Dutse.

The courtesy visit, led by the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Haruna Isa Zazika, was aimed at fostering deeper institutional collaboration between the Corps and the youth constituency in the state, particularly in areas of security awareness, public engagement and community development.

Speaking during the visit, Rt. Hon. Zazika described the Youth Assembly as a non-partisan, youth-driven platform devoted to promoting peace, unity and civic responsibility among young Nigerians.

He commended the NSCDC for its dedication to protecting critical infrastructure and maintaining law and order, stating, “The Corps has demonstrated unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Jigawa.”

The Speaker expressed the Assembly’s willingness to partner with the NSCDC in sensitisation campaigns, anti-vandalism initiatives and efforts geared towards youth empowerment and development.

Responding, the State Commandant, Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, expressed gratitude for the visit and lauded the Assembly for their efforts in championing peaceful coexistence and responsible youth leadership, urging them to continue “advocating against drug abuse, political thuggery and other social vices that plague young people today.”

The Commandant further assured the delegation of the Corps’ readiness to collaborate on intelligence sharing, community outreach and promoting national values, with the event concluding in a formal group photograph and the presentation of a commendation letter to the Commandant to mark the occasion.
